How to Tell If Your Rolex Dayjust Watch Is Fake
- 1). Check the back of your Rolex Dayjust. If the back is a see-through case that allows you to see the gears that operate the watch, it is fake. This feature was not used by Rolex in their Dayjust watches.
- 2). Check the back of the Rolex watch for an engraving. If there is an engraving, this watch is a fake, as Rolex did not inscribe the Dayjust watches.
- 3). Check the sticker on the back of your Rolex watch. It should have the Rolex crown visible in a three-dimensional hologram image. The image will change patterns, depending on the angle you are viewing the sticker from. This is only applicable on watches produced by Rolex after 2002, as Rolexes before 2002 did not have this holographic sticker.
- 4). Investigate the face of the Rolex as well if it was produced after 2002. Rolex started etching their crown into the glass on the front of the watch. This etching should be seen on the front of the watch, near the six.
- 5). Check the etching on your Rolex watch case. The etching in a standard Rolex is very shallow on the surface, with very fine lines. Fakes will typically have deeper etchings. If you have two Rolex watches, and one of them has numbers that are very close to each other and the other has numbers that are spaced further apart, the one with more spacing is the valid one, with the closer numbering being a fake Rolex.
