How to Get Straight Hair

104 2

    Flat Iron

    • You can use a flat iron to temporarily straighten hair.

    Japanese Straightening

    • If you want a longer-lasting treatment, undergo the Japanese straightening process at a salon. The process gets rid of frizz and curls, but is costly.

    African Hair

    • African hair can be relaxed to make it straight. This process involves breaking the hair fibers down with chemicals in order to reshape them into straighter hair.

    Relaxers

    • No-lye hair relaxers may be less likely to irritate the scalp than relaxers with lye in them, but they may make hair duller.

    Considerations

    • Whatever type of hair you have, straightening your hair will damage it at least a bit. Be sure to condition your hair thoroughly, and use a heat protection spray if appropriate.
