Confidence Quizzes - Can They Improve Your Confidence?

103 13
Everyone who wants to improve their confidence knows; you have to know your starting point and you have to know where you want to be.
This means you need to be aware of your personality, character, thinking style and emotional reactions.
Bottom line - you need to know about your weaknesses and strengths.
We can then begin converting our weaknesses into strengths, to enable us to be better equipped to reach our higher goals in life.
The question is - how do we find our weaknesses? Many times, we realize our weaknesses ourselves.
Sometimes, our friends and family members tell us about them.
Quizzes are another way you can find out about your weaknesses and strengths.
Many scientific tests and quizzes have been devised to help you asses and find your personality traits.
Whether for work reasons or personal reasons, you will find a wealth of these tests and quizzes online.
But none of these can be precise.
The theory behind these interactive, self-help tools is constantly being updated, or totally replaced with a new theory.
So what's the point in all these interactive quizzes and test? The answer is simple - questions.
The human mind has developed over the years by asking questions.
We continuously evaluate the things around us by asking questions.
These can be subconscious or conscious questions - why does (fill in the blank) happen? What is the reason for (blank)? How does (blank) work or not work? Whether we are questioning things around us; like nature, moon cycles or the earth revolving around the sun; or things inside us; like emotions, feelings, moods or reactions, by asking questions, or a series of questions, the answers have emerged.
So, going back to the original theme of this article; can quizzes improve your confidence? The short answer is 'no'.
However, what tests and quizzes are primarily designed to do; is to give an indication of probability.
They ask questions or give us options, and we mark our answers.
Those questions or options may not be perfectly drafted, but then a lot of the time, nor are our answers! The test will then give you an indication of probability, based upon those answers.
The real secret of a test is to help raise questions in the mind of the quiz taker.
When he or she comes across a question, their mind will think about a suitable answer.
This will then lead to their mind asking more questions.
And that development of the thinking process is the biggest advantage of quizzing and testing.
Quizzes and tests by themselves may not give any answers that are perfect for you, but they can make a person think.
