- 1). Make invitations to send out to those you wish to invite. Print pictures of seed packets onto handmade invitations, or glue a packet of actual seeds onto each. Create invitations, as an alternative, using scrapbook supplies and floral stickers. Mail these at least a month before your garden party.
- 2). Make ice cubes by placing edible flower petals into the compartments of ice cube trays, then filling with water and freezing. Prepare the special touches for the party, such as a centerpiece using fresh-picked flowers from your garden. Place napkins in rings, and add an herb sprig from your herb bed. Choose a floral tablecloth and plain place mats for the table setting. Put together gift bags or baskets for the guests. Fill them with a vase, marbles or pebbles, and a ribbon. Place garden shears in each as well.
- 3). Prepare the food and beverages for your garden party. Use the flower petal ice cubes when making the iced tea from herbs in the garden, or lemonade using lemons from the tree. Pick fresh greens, tomatoes and other types of produce to create salads for everyone. Barbecue in the garden area, placing fresh corn on the grill with meat choices. Make cucumber and cheese sandwiches, quartered and placed on platters along the table. Make lemon cake, using edible flowers to decorate it after frosting.
- 4). Hand out the gift bags or baskets once everyone has eaten and socialized. Instruct your guests to walk through your garden and to use the garden shears to cut flowers and herbs that they would like to make a bouquet with. Join them. Have them place the marbles or pebbles into the vases, and to add water. Ask them to cut their flowers to the desired size, and to place them into the vase. Tell them to tie the ribbon around the vase, and that the bouquets are for them to bring home and enjoy.
