Virtual drummers around the world are no longer limited to tabletops, walls and other hard surfaces thanks to the wide array of drum-friendly console games.
  
  

Rock Band Series

• With or without a guitarist, bassist or lead singer, the "Rock Band" series allows amateur and experienced drummers alike to play along to such classics as Metallica's "Enter Sandman" and Nine Inch Nails' "The Hand that Feeds."
  
  With avatar creation and wardrobe changes made possible, your character(s) can rock and roll in the fashions and hairstyles of your choosing.
  
  Other "Rock Band" games that include drums are "Rock Band" and "Rock Band 2" and the "AC/DC," "Rock Band Unplugged," "Classic Rock," "Country," "Lego Rock Band" and "The Beatles" versions.
  
  

Guitar Hero World Tour

• The first of the "Guitar Hero" series (six other nondrum editions preceded it) that allows Xbox players to play drums, "Guitar Hero World Tour" is also the first of the series to feature Jimi Hendrix tunes. With a bigger variety of avatar fashions, your character's stylish attire will help set the right vibe as you and your band rock out to Hendrix's "Purple Haze" or the Eagles' "Hotel California." You can play solo or with a band.
  
  Other "Guitar Hero" games that include drums are "Metallica," "Smash Hits," "Guitar Hero 5" and "Van Halen."
  
  

Drum Kit

• With a free trial version of the game available for download on the Xbox Live Marketplace, "Drum Kit" allows players to play along to tunes in their personal Xbox music libraries. Gamers also have the option of playing using either the drum kit or their standard Xbox controllers. This game is designed for solo play only.
  
  

Drum Xplosion

• With a free trial version of the game available for download on the Xbox Live Marketplace, "Drum Xplosion" allows gamers to enjoy freestyle drum play without background music. What makes "Drum Xplosion" so explosive is the accompanying visuals, which are reminiscent of laser show imagery and fireworks. This game allows one or two players and use of the drum kit or standard Xbox controller.
