WoW Professions - Jewel Crafting Explained

When you are trying to figure out what WoW professions you want to take up it can be a bit puzzling.
All the professions have their bonuses; you want to find one that fits your character and their needs.
Jewel crafting is one of the more popular professions throughout the classes for a few reasons.
1.
You get to use 3 JC only gems that give you roughly 59% more stats per gem vs the other epic gems 2.
You can do a daily quest that is very simple and gives you 1 jc token, these tokens can be used to buy jewel crafting recipes and or dragon eyes, which are the mats for the JC only gems.
3.
The dragon eyes are not soulbound and can be sold on the auction for a nice price to other JCs who don't want to use their tokens for the dragon eyes or don't have enough.
Potentially you could sell a dragon eye everyday and make 50-100g depending on your server's prices.
4.
Once you get higher recipes, people pay nicely to have gems cut for them, so you can potentially make money more than one way with this profession Jewel crafting is one of the more versatile professions, not just for the bonuses but for the money making prospects.
Depending on your server, it can be costly to level up if you are buying most of the mats.
However, compared to enchanting or blacksmithing, it is usually cheaper than those by a large margin.
If you are only training 1 Main profession and want a collection profession to go along with JC, I would suggest Mining.
With Mining you not only get a stat bonus (not a big deal unless pvp or tank) but you will gather many of the mats you need for JC and anything you don't need usually sells on the auction.
Plus it doesn't cost anything to level, just running around the world finding mining points.
