How to Make Your Own Power Gel

    • 1). Add five cups of brown rice syrup, three cups of honey, two cups of blackstrap molasses and 1/8 tsp. of salt to a small saucepan.

    • 2). Place the saucepan onto a stove burner turned to low. Allow the mixture to heat up for one to two minutes, stirring constantly. You do not want to cook the ingredients--you are simply heating them up slightly to make the gel easier to mix together.

    • 3). Turn off the stove burner and remove the saucepan from the burner.

    • 4). Insert a funnel into a gel flask or an athletic water bottle. Pour the gel mixture into the funnel until the flask or bottle is ¾-full of gel or contains approximately one ounce.
