How to Make Your Own Liquid Hand Soap
- 1). Finely grate approximately 6 ounces of castile soap or your favorite scented or unscented bar soap. Castile soap is available online and at some pharmacies.
- 2). Add 4 cups of water to a pot on the stove and bring the water to a full boil.
- 3). Add the finely grated bar soap to the boiling water.
- 4). Stir to dissolve the soap and thoroughly mix with the water. Remove the pot from the heat of the stove.
- 5). Add 6 to 8 drops of your favorite essential oil, 1 teaspoon of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of glycerin. The essential oil is optional and should only be used if you are using an unscented soap. Essential oils are available at health food stores, natural pharmacies and online. Glycerin is available at a pharmacy.
- 6). Mix all ingredients thoroughly.
- 7). Pour the liquid soap into a pump dispenser. Allow the mixture to cool completely before putting the lid on. Let the soap set for about 4 to 6 hours before using.
