Nautical Party Decorations

    • 1). Drape fake fish netting on walls and around or on top of tables. You can attach plastic versions of anchors, fish, shells, or life preservers to the net with clear twine. See the Resources section for the link to a site that sells these fun nautical decorations.

    • 2). Buy a few plastic or paper banners of nautical flags (like the ones seen on ships) from a party store. Hang them from the ceiling or across the walls. If your party is being held outside, drape the banners on the side of the house, on patio railings, or around tables.

    • 3). Liven up the walls further by hanging large decorative life preservers and ship helms.

    • 4). Scatter small amounts of sand at the centers of tabletops. Arrange seashells on top of the sand.

    • 5). Place plastic marine creatures such as lobsters, crabs, seahorses, and whales around the party space.

    • 6). Make nautical centerpieces using miniature versions of lighthouses or cruise ships, available at party stores and online. Simply place them at the center of the table amongst scattered sand and shells. Alternatively, you could fill decorative glasses with sand and shells and place a votive candle inside for a more sophisticated look.
