How do I Apply Evening Make Up for a Wedding?

    • 1). Wash your face with an antibacterial face wash beginning about two weeks before your wedding. This will help heal any current breakouts and prevent any others from occurring. If possible, adopt a skin care regimen that includes a toner and moisturizer. Perform this regimen every day after waking and before bed. Use products that complement your skin. For example, if you have oily skin, use oil free products, and use hydrating products if you have sensitive, dry skin. Perform this regimen immediately before applying your makeup for your evening wedding.

    • 2). Apply your foundation. If you use a liquid, be sure to use a sponge applicator. Using your bacteria covered fingers will transfer your natural oils to your face and possibly cause irritation and a yucky breakout for your honeymoon. Also use a sponge if you are using a foundation in a spray can. For those who use mineral makeup, the perfect application begins with choosing the right brush. Fuller brushes yield more coverage while smaller, thinner brushes provide minimal coverage.

    • 3). Apply a concealer to any blemishes or under eye circles by using your ring finger to gently pat the under-eye area. Start at the inside corner of your eye and move outwards. Continue patting until the concealer is blended.

    • 4). Apply your choice of eye shadows. Start with a lighter shade that is brushed on from the lash line to the brow bone. Brush on a darker shade over the entire eye lid. Apply an even darker color in the creases. The color palate you choose should be coordinated with your eye color. For example, use different shades of purple for gorgeous green eyes and browns for those baby blues.

    • 5). Line your eyes with a waterproof eye liner. Brush over the liner on the top lid with your eye shadow applicator to give it a smudge. Apply a small dab of highlighter in the corner of your eyes to really make them standout.

    • 6). Apply waterproof mascara beginning at the lash line of both the upper and lower lashes. Remember that you will more than likely be crying at some point, so this is a must to avoid black streaks down your pretty face. If your mascara is approaching the three month mark, replace it with a fresh tube. This is not only good hygiene, but it limits your chances of developing a nasty eye infection as well as avoids flaking.

    • 7). Apply blush to the apples of your cheeks. The color you use depends on your skin tone, hair color and the rest of your makeup. Use a shade that resembles your lip coloring or is lighter. If you have oily skin, stick with powder blushes. Dab your brush in the powder and tap it with your finger to remove any excess powder. Apply the powder in an arc starting at the apple of your cheeks.

    • 8). Apply a lip moisturizer to your lips. Line your pucker with a shade of lip liner that coordinates with the rest of your makeup. Very lightly fill in your lip with the liner. Apply a matching shade of lip gloss to make your lips appear irresistible. Lipstick can also be applied in place of lip gloss or you may use lip gloss by itself.
