Beach Birthday Party Games
- Sand castle building competitions let party goers find their creative side. Provide plastic pails and shovels, shells and other items that can be used to construct the sand castles. Set a time limit, and building stops when the time expires. Have onlookers vote for the best sand castle, and award the winner with an item that can be used on the beach, such as sunglasses or beach shoes. Another competition shows who can make the best beach hats. Provide straw hats, small sand dollars, shells, starfish and glue, and have the guests design their own hats. After the competition is over, guests can show off their creations by wearing them on the beach.
- The limbo is a classic party game, not only for beach parties, but for indoor parties as well. Put a spin on classic limbo by changing the rules a bit. Have guests go under the pole while balancing an item on the torso. If the party goes into the nighttime hours, play flashlight limbo, having guests limbo under the beams of the flashlights.
- In this game of "hide and seek," guests are given one half of a pair of flip flops as they arrive. The mates to the flip flops they are holding are hidden in a certain area on the beach, and participants must find them. Hide the flip flops in beach bags, under towels, in containers and in the sand. The object of the game is to collect as many flip flops as possible.
- Hide a prize, such as movie passes or gift certificates. As guests arrive, give them a map with clues to find the buried treasure. Guest will be divided into teams, and the winning team claims the prize.
