Instructions for Leap Frog Baby DVD Game
- Plug in the Little Leaps activity controller into your DVD player. Sensors allow the activity controller to interact with the DVD player, and all games are played through your DVD system like a normal movie menu screen. When you plug into the controller, a menu will appear on your screen and prompt you to select the quick setup process. Follow the instructions provided on the screen. If the activity controller is not able to communicate and/or find your DVD player, press "Menu" on your DVD remote and select manual setup.
- Press down and hold the yellow setup button found on the controller. Hold it down until you see a green light appear at the top of the activity controller. Press the green "E" button on the Little Leaps keypad. Enter your three-digit code chosen from the list provided with the Leap Frog system. For example, if you have an APEX, then your code would be 003. If you have misplaced your manual, then a full list of codes can be found below in this article's resource section.
- Press the "E" button on the controller again, and wait for the activity controller to complete its search. Press the red button on the controller, when instructed to do so. Save your language settings and get ready to play!
- Insert a DVD into your DVD player exactly as you would a movie. When the menu comes up, navigate around by moving the activity controller's blue toggle button through your various options. Press the controller's red button to make any selection.
- The Leap Frog Baby DVD Game contains five different stages -- three for babies and two for toddlers. "Stage 1 Baby Mode" is a special view-and-learn sequence that scrolls pictures and images for baby to enjoy. Use the joystick and toggle button to get the baby acquainted with the controller.
Select the "Stage 2 Baby Mode" from the main menu to play a game that is designed for both parents and children to play together. Here, you will manually scroll through the pictures and sounds so the baby can learn to identify various everyday items. Interact with your young child by pointing out different items on the screen, and teach him how to begin using the controller's toggle button and joystick.
Finally, select "Stage 3 Baby Mode" once your baby can independently use the controller. The images on the screen invite independent play and further cognitive development.
Select "Stage 1 Toddler Mode" for Leap Frog's advanced learning activities, which include language games and basic preschool education.
Select the final stage, "Stage 2 Toddler Mode," to provide your toddler with quiz games and activities that involve more brain power and active learning. Here you will find puppets, animation and actors. Again, interact with your child to ensure a full learning experience. - Try the different languages found in the four main DVDs that can be purchased for the Leap Frog Baby DVD Game. You can choose from French, Dutch, German, Spanish or English. Encourage your child's ability to learn foreign languages quickly.
- Allow your child to determine your way of playing. Some children will choose to sing along and interact enthusiastically, while others prefer quiet observation. There is no wrong way to play this interactive game. Support your child's intellectual growth and take advantage of time well spent together.
