How to Make a Proposal Romantic

    • 1). Ask her to marry you at a location that has special meaning to you as a couple. Recreate that first blind date, and pop the question at the restaurant where you first met. A college library might not seem like a romantic location -- unless it's where you two first locked eyes. Choose a location that always makes you smile when you think of it.

    • 2). Build up to the big question. Saying the words "Will you marry me?" takes mere seconds, but you can extend the romance by spoiling your soon-to-be-fiancee before you get down on one knee. Send her flowers leading up to the proposal -- she won't know why you sent them, but they will put her in a romantic mood that day.

    • 3). Speak freely. Even though she might be waiting for those four important words, your future fiancee will appreciate hearing what she means to you. Leading up to popping the question, reflect on your relationship, talk about how valuable it is and tell her that you love her. Hearing "Will you marry me?" is romantic, but hearing why you want to marry her is even more so.

    • 4). Plan a celebration with your fiancee in mind. Her "yes" is worthy of a celebration, so continue the romance after you slip that ring on her finger. Choose a celebration that will appeal to her. If she is close to her family, you can have them waiting at a restaurant to surprise her and celebrate. If you want some alone time, set up a picnic for the two of you in a nearby park and enjoy some champagne under the stars.
