Birds, Birdhouses And Bird Feeders

Adults and children all over the world love bird watching.
The best way to do bird watching is right in your own yard.
An addition of birdhouses, bird feeders and bird baths, will definitely invite plenty of our feathered friends to come and bathe, dine and stay for awhile in their own home.
Even in winter you can still setup feeders and birdhouses for birds who don't fly south for the winter.
They will really appreciate the warmth of a nice house and food for there bellies.
You might only get a few, but you will be prepared for the upcoming spring time.
There will be many different types of birds enjoying your birdhouses.
Here are a few that you might see American kestrels, bluebirds, buffleheads, chickadees, flycatchers, goldeneyes, house finches, mergansers, northern flickers, nuthatches, purple martins, sparrows, starlings, titmice, tree swallows, woodpeckers and wrens.
There are some suggestions for attracting different birds: To attract cardinals, chickadees, finches, jays, nuthatches, pine siskin's, redpolls, sparrows, titmouse's, and woodpeckers use a tube feeder with black oil sunflower seeds.
Be sure to get a tube feeder with a nice ledge around it so the birds will be comfortable while they eat.
Also with a tube feeder put some peanuts in it to attract cardinals, chickadees, doves, finches, grackles, jays, juncos, sparrows, starlings and titmouse's.
Finches also like seeds.
So get a thistle feeder and put some thistle seeds in it.
And for those fast fluttering hummingbirds, get a hummingbird feeder and fill it with hummingbird nectar.
Some birds like to be in a place where others won't bother them.
So try and put your birdhouses in a secluded place in a tree.
And some like being around other birds.
You can check in bird books or even bird forums or blogs for information.
Birds are very particular where they nest.
So it's a good idea to have a variety of birdhouses and different locations around your yard, for them to decide which is right for them.
Sometimes it might take days before the decide which the want.
There are numerous ways of choosing birdhouses and bird feeders such as: make your own, buy kits, buy birdhouse plans or look for free plans online and buy finished decorative birdhouses.
Do some research online to see what type birds are in your area and what they like for there nesting materials.
This will help you get off to the right start of having a yard full of your feathered friends.
Now it's time for you to make the move and get some birdhouses and bird feeders and spread them around your yard.
Then before you know it you will have your own garden of Eden.
