How to Make a Parrot Nest
- 1). Remove the lid from the shoe box and lift it upright. Place it back into the box, still standing upright, to where it makes a sort of "L" shape.
- 2). Stab the box through the lid inside of it with a sharp poking tool or a pair of scissors.
- 3). Slip the box inside of your parrot's habitat, pressing it up against a far corner of the cage floor.
- 4). Slide a 6-inch-long zip tie through the cage and through the hole in the box. Bring the free end around the side of the box and back out of the cage around a couple of the bars. Slip the end of the zip tie through the accompanying box at the other end to secure it. Pull it taut to secure the box against the cage.
- 5). Provide the nest with about a handful of substrate such as shredded paper. Give your parrot some bigger chunks of paper and wood blocks so it can finish building its nest, as they like to do when they are egg-laden.
