Alien Halloween Ideas

    Halloween Party

    • Have a Halloween party at your home or school. Decorate the walls with planets, stars, UFOs and scary aliens. Make a saucer-shaped cake and decorate it to look like a spaceship. Serve the children a green fruit drink in orange and black plastic cups. Play hide-and-seek, with parents dressing up as frightening aliens, hiding from the children in the backyard. Upon being found, the parent jumps out and makes loud noises, 'abducting' the child and carrying him back inside to his 'home planet'. Set up a blindfolded game of pin the third eye on the alien.

    Alien Candy Apples

    • To make the candy for a candy apple, pour 1 cup sugar, 1/2 cup white corn syrup, 1 can sweetened condensed milk and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract into a large, nonstick saucepan. Cook slowly over low heat and stir until a spoonful of the candy turns hard when dropped in a glass of ice cold water. Place two licorice sticks resembling a "V" shape several places in a large cooking pan. Dip the apples in the hot candy and place them sideways in the pan on top of each set of licorice sticks. Do this before the shell hardens, and use metal prongs. The apple should look like it has antennas. With the prongs, place small round chocolate mint candy for the eyes and candy corns for the teeth on the front of the apple. Allow adequate time to harden and give the alien heads to your children and their friends.

    Haunted Spaceship

    • Turn your house into a haunted spaceship for Halloween and allow your kids to invite their friends over for a spooky tour. Buy the soundtrack from the movie "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" and use it for background music. Roll out a strip of carpet or rug leading to your front door and install blinking lights along each side. Place flashing lights all through the house, and have your friends, relatives and kids dress up as aliens and hide behind furniture. When the people taking the tour are moving from room to room in the dark, have the aliens jump out from behind the furniture and scream loudly while shining flashlights. Have someone in an ET costume open the back door and say "phone home" while giving a bag of ET's favorite peanut butter candy to each departing guest.

    Scary Alien Stories

    • For a change from traditional Halloween "trick or treating," try taking your kids and some of their friends to a dark secluded campground overnight. Have plenty of candy on hand as the group forms a circle around a campfire and roasts marshmallows. When completely dark out, have each person take a turn telling a scary story about how they once saw a flying saucer or how aliens tried to abduct them. By the time the last person in the circle tells his frightening tale, everyone may be too scared to sleep.
