The Key To Beautiful Skin

102 3
Your habits and lifestyle are the most important factors in determining the type of skin you have. Sure, genetics plays a big part, too, but you can control and maintain beautiful skin by what you do to it.

The secret to healthy skin that glows is all about four simple things: cleansing, exfoliating, moisutrizing and protection. Protection involves using a 30SPF or more sunscreen to block harmful UV rays. Such easy things to remember! Every step of your skincare regimen should be custom designed to treat your particular skin type, whether it's oily, dry, normal, combination or sensitive.

Oily Skin
If you have a persistent sheen that is probably accompanied by enlarged pores, then you've got oily skin. Most people think that washing your face several times throughout the day is the only way to deal with oily skin, however this may actually be contributing to the problem than helping it. The key to controlling that sheen caused by excess sebum production is to limit washing your face to twice a day, preferably with an oil-free cleanser. Exfoliate about 4 days a week with a gentle scrub (be careful not to rub the skin too harshly), and treat your skin to a mask about once a week. Apply a moisturizer designed for oily skin after you cleanser every time. Then slather on the sunblock, baby!

Dry or Normal Skin
Dry skin is parched and doesn't produce enough sebum to naturally moisturize and protect the skin. As a result, use a creamy cleanser designed for dry skin once a day. Don't use hot water, since it will contribute to dryness - stick with lukewarm. Exfoliate only once a week and go for a rich cream for intense moisturization. You can even treat your skin to a luxurious moisturizing mask once a week. And then, of course, apply sunscreen

Sensitive Skin
Sensitive skin responds almost immediately to environmental changes, new skin care products, stress, and even to what we eat and drink. It can be plagued with problems like acne, rosacea and discolouration. The key to maintaining beautiful skin that's sensitive is to finding what works, and sticking with it! There's no room for trying out new things, unless you are willing to take the risk.

It's imperative that any products used contain little or no fragrance, since parfum is usually one of the most common reasons why one would have an adverse reaction. You may also want to stick to products that have few chemicals and no parabens. Use a gentle cleanser and moisturize using a lotion that's light.
