Toe Nail Designs for Beginners
- Choose multiple colors for the easiest possible toe nail design. Simply choose a selection of gradient tones from the same color family. For instance, different shades of orange, yellow and red for warm colors, or blue, turquoise and green for a cooler option. Paint each nail in a different color for a funky and simple look. Alternatively, choose only two colors and alternate between them. Black and white looks great, as do other opposing colors such as yellow and purple.
- Choose two matching colors, a base color and a contrasting one. Choose a bold combination such as a dark lilac and gold or black and silver. Paint all nails in the base color and let them dry thoroughly. Dab the pointy end of a toothpick into the second color and carefully apply small dots in a decorative vertical line on your big toe nails. Combine with a second matching color -- silver and white go well together -- for an even more exciting look.
- Choose a vibrant color such as hot pink as your base for this fresh look. Pick a bright yellow as a matching but opposing color. Paint all nails with the pink nail polish and let dry thoroughly. Dip the pointy side of a toothpick into the yellow nail polish and apply small dots in a circle on one side of each big toe nail to resemble small flowers. This is a very pretty and girly look.
- Apply any nail color of your liking to your toenails and let it dry thoroughly. Dip a toothpick into a second color and carefully apply vertical lines on one edge of each of your big toe nails. Repeat for all your other nails for an even funkier look. If you are willing to go a step further and try something slightly trickier, wait until your base coat is fully dry and apply a line using clear nail polish. Immediately sprinkle some crafts glitter. Remove excess glitter by blowing on your nail.
