- 1). Set up a box and cup in the center where you'll be tossing the washers.
- 2). Take turns tossing three washers at the box and cup. Each player tosses all three of his washers. For scoring, a washer that lands in the box is worth 1 point while a washer that lands in the cup scores 3 points.
- 3). Award the difference of points to the highest scorer. Therefore, if the first player landed 2 washers in the cup and one in the box, he would have 7 points. If the second player landed 2 washers in the box and missed with the third, he would have 2 points. The final awarded points would be 5 points to the first player. 7 - 2 = 5.
- 4). Continue play until a player reaches 21 points. The winner is the first one to reach or exceed 21 points.
- 5). (Alternatively) A player must reach exactly 21 points. In this variation, if a score would put a player or team over 21 points, then the points that would have been awarded are instead subtracted from their score.
