- 1). Start your Playstation 3 and highlight the "Settings" option from the main menu. Press "X."

- 4). Scroll through the list of audio output formats and choose one of the formats compatible with your audio output device. Press "X" to select it. Refer to your specific audio output device for specific connections compatible with the device. Do not select "Linear PCM 2 Ch. 88.2 kHz" or "Linear PCM 2 Ch. 176.4 kHz," as both of these audio output formats can cause intermittent sound problems.
- 5). Press the "Circle" button on the controller then select "Yes" when asked if you want to save the changes.
