Requirements for Sims Life Stories

    History

    • The Sims: Life Stories was released on February 6, 2007. The game is based on the same video engine of The Sims 2, though it is optimized for laptops and features reduced hardware requirements. Two more entries in the series have since been published: The Sims: Pet Stories and The Sims: Castaway Stories.

    Operating System

    • The Sims: Life Stories requires Windows ME, Windows 98, Windows 2000 or better on PCs, Mac OS X 10.3.9 or better on an Apple computer.

    Graphics

    • On PCs, a DirectX 9.0 32mb video card is required, while on an Apple computer, according to Aspyr.com, there are the following options: Video Card (ATI): Radeon 9000, Video Card (NVidia): Geforce FX 5200, Video Chipset (Intel): Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950, Video Memory (VRam): 32 MB.

    CPU

    • For PCs, according to www.thesims2.ea.com, if you have a T&L capable video card with at least 32 MB of video RAM then you need at least: an 800 MHz processor or better, 256 MB RAM if Windows Vista, XP, Windows ME, Windows 98 or Windows 2000, and at least 3.5 GB of hard drive space.

      If you have a non-T&L capable video card (an Intel Extreme Graphics or a Radeon 7000/VE Series), you need at least a 2.0 GHz processor or better, 256 MB RAM if Windows Vista, XP, Windows ME, Windows 98 or Windows 2000, and at least 3.5 GB of hard drive space.

      For Apple computers, the processor must be a Power PC G4, G5 or Intel chipset and be faster than 1gHz.

    Memory

    • RAM (Random Access Memory) requirements for PCs are 256 megabytes minimum, 512 megabytes on a laptop. Apple computers require a minimum of 256 megabytes.
