Socialism and Expecting Too Much from Government

There seems to be a problem in this country and that is too many Americans are putting their desirous whims ahead of what is best for our nation.
Too many people are indeed voting for Politicians who promise them Free Stuff.
Such wasted votes hurts our nation in that it could bankrupt us.
Folks need to take more personal responsibility for them selves and stop expecting the government to do everything for them.
Meanwhile if the system does everything, then they figure why do anything themselves.
It makes humans weak and pathetic really, unfortunately this is one reason why Socialism and Communism cannot work over time and why Capitalism has done so well in such a brief history in time (200 plus year).
Look how great this nation is and out Wealth and quality of life? But as good as this is, personally I think we can do a lot better.
If the Government, our government, us, WE THE PEOPLE, will all sit back for a moment at a Fireside Chat, so to speak and consider that we are all in this together, then we will enlist the masses to work for the common cause and that will include the PEOPLE in government too, because they are us, we are them and we are one.
It is time for the citizens to grow up and the government stop spending on wasteful things.
