- 1). Find a Magnemite in the Power Plant on Route Ten, and catch it with a Poke Ball.
- 2). Assign Magnemite to your party of six traveling Pokemon.
- 3). Give Magnemite the Exp. Share item to hold. To get this item, go to the Pokemon Lab outside Fuchsia City after you collect 50 Pokemon, and then talk to the scientist upstairs. The Exp. Share will enable Magnemite to gain Experience Points from battles even if you don't use the Pokemon in them.
- 4). Use Magnemite in battles so that it gains Experience Points. It will be especially effective against Water and Flying-type Pokemon.
- 5). Earn enough Experience Points to elevate Magnemite to Level 30. At this point, it will automatically evolve into Magneton.
