How to Light Gas Fireplaces With an Ignitor
- 1). Remove the decorative panel on the front of the fireplace, if there is one.
- 2). Locate the rectangular panel at the bottom front of the fireplace. Grasp it with your fingers and lift up and outward to open it.
- 3). Locate the "Valve Control" button and turn it to the "Off" position. If your fireplace does not have a button labeled valve control, look for the button that can be turned to off.
- 4). Turn the "Valve Control" button counterclockwise until it points to the word "Pilot."
- 5). Push in on the valve control button with one hand, and press in on the igniter button with the other hand.
- 6). Look into the center of the fireplace logs to see if a flame appears at the end of the gas connection. If no flame appears, press the igniter button again.
- 7). Hold the valve control button down for 30 seconds. Release the knob and turn it to the "On" position.
- 8). Tun the flame adjuster knob to the desired position to set the level of the flame. The knob can be set to high, low or any level in between.
- 9). Raise the lower rectangular panel back up into position and replace the decorative panel.
