Proper Distance to Throw Darts
- 1). Choose the wall to hang the dartboard. Measure 5 feet, 8 inches from the floor up the wall. Mark it with a pencil or chalk.
- 2). Hang the dartboard with hammer and nail so that the bullseye is centered over the mark you made on the wall. A dartboard with a central bracket in the middle of its back can be mounted right on the nail.
- 3). Measure the toe line, also referred to as the throwline, oche or hockey. It should be 7 feet, 9 ¼ inches away from the face of the dartboard. Mark it with chalk or a pencil.
- 4). Draw the toe line using the ruler and chalk.
- 5). Run tape along the length of the toe line, putting it on the side of the toe line closest to the dartboard.
