How to Move Up Straps on a Car Seat
- 1). Place your child in the safety seat. If the shoulder harness strap slots are lower than the top of the child's shoulder you will need to adjust the straps to the higher slot setting.
- 2). Turn the seat around and locate the strap bracket on the back. This is a metal, wing-shaped bracket tethered to the bottom of the seat with open slots for removing the straps.
- 3). Pull the straps off of the bracket and slide them back through the strap slots on the car seat. Simply pulling the straps will slide them out of the slots.
- 4). Fit the straps through the higher set of slots, located just above the original slots, and reattach them to the bracket.
- 5). Ensure that the adjustment fits your child securely just above the shoulders.
