Instructions for Building a Saddle Rack at Home
- 1). Measure to the middle of one of the 2-inch by 12-inch by 3-foot boards along the 12-inch side. Mark this measurement. Measure three inches down from the top, where you have made the marking, on either side of the 3-foot sides of the board. Draw a connecting line from the middle marking to each marking on the side.
- 2). Saw along both lines and discard the excess wood triangle. The end result should be a point in the top of the wood. Repeat this with the other board.
- 3). Place the (2) 2-inch by 12-inch by 30-inch boards on either side of this triangle on both boards at either end.
- 4). Nail the 30-inch-long boards into the top of the 3-foot boards, with them positioned at either end of the top boards, using two nails for each side (eight nails total). The end result should be a houselike shape with a roof.
- 5). Place the 2-inch by 12-inch by 26-inch board between the two 3-foot-long end boards 1 1/2 feet up from the bottom. Nail it securely. This will be the support board.
- 6). Flip the rack over so it is sitting on one of the slanted boards. Center each 2-inch by 12-inch by 2-foot board on the bottom of each 3-foot board. Nail them in to create feet for the rack.
- 7). Stand the rack back to its normal upright position on the newly nailed feet. Place the saddle blanket on the stand, and then place your saddle on the blanket.
