    • 1). Gather the hay out of the water.

    • 2). Untie or cut the strings that hold the hay bale together.

    • 3). Spread the hay out, using a rake, on a flat dry area that receives a good amount of sun exposure.

    • 4). Turn the hay over with a pitchfork regularly to allow all sides of the hay to dry.

    • 5). Sort through the hay to look for and remove any mold.

    • 6). Gather the dry hay up into bundles and tie with baling string.
