Sherry Argov is a genius! When she began her crusade to empower the women of the world, turning doormats into dreamgirls, I'm sure she had no idea that her book would also apply to gay men. Heterosexual or homosexual, a man is a man! Gay men have the same love, sex and relationship problems that women have. Read this handbook and take back control of your self worth.
I was slightly skeptical when a friend first recommended this book to me.
It was given to her as a solution to the slew of man problems she'd encountered living in a big city. We were both amazed at how similar our dating experiences were even though she was straight and I gay. We both often wondered why we had such negative romantic encounters and why the men in our lives never wanted to commit. We were frustrated, complaining that every man wanted a "bad boy" and we were just too kind to put on a callous act. It soon became clear that we didn't have to become mean, degrading or shallow people- we just needed to stop being doormats! We took our natural kindness to the extreme, definitely to the point of being taken advantage of. We'd lost our inner confidence and self worth, or as Sherry Argov would call it: our inner bitch!
The solution was Sherry Argov's book Why Men Love Bitches. She doesn't use the term "bitch" in a negative way, referring to the all too familiar people we encounter in everyday life who wear a permanent attitude and seek to destroy any and everything in their way.
No, the new bitch is "a woman [or gay man] who won't bang her [his] head against the wall obsessing over someone else's opinion- be it a man or anyone else in life. She [He] understands that if someone does not approve of her [him], it's just one person's opinion; therefore, it's of no real importance. She [he] doesn't try to live up to anyone else's standards- only her [his] own."
This book is a must buy for all gay men, not so we can walk the streets with impenetrable masks, but because it is a self-esteem booster like no other. It teaches you to cherish who you are and believe that you are worth being treated the way you want to be treated. In her book, Sherry Argov quotes Eleanor Roosevelt who once stated, "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent."
We all have our own impression of a knight in shining armor. After reading Why Men Love Bitches you'll soon realize that you are the knight and you'll be every boy's prize once you stop being a doormat! Lastly, Sherry Argov exclaims, "Don't ever let anyone shake your faith in yourself, because that's really all that you have."
