Everyone is different genetically speaking (unless you have identical siblings), so when it comes to maintaining a healthy weight (HW) it will depend on whether you are consuming above or below what our body requires.
If you are above our (HW) we will increase the stress on our bodies resulting in disease.
If you are below our (HW) we become unable to fight disease or heal ourselves.
A healthy weight is exactly that, a weight that the body feels balanced with and can reach its healthiest existence.
To work out what your energy expenditure is a consultation with a qualified Dietitian will calculate your current energy requirement.
For example an athlete will have a higher energy expenditure than a writer who is seated for most of the day, so they would have differing energy requirements.
Of course as your life changes so does your energy requirements.
So when it comes to eating for your healthy weight firstly you need to weigh yourself, secondly you need to find out if you are within your healthy weight.
Once you know that then: So if your within your healthy weight your balancing you energy expenditure (daily exercise) with your food intake.
If your above your healthy weight you will require to increase your energy expenditure and reduce your food intake.
If your below your healthy weight you will require to increase your food intake.
Summary: If your within your (HW): Energy OUT (exercise) = Energy IN (eating).
If your above your (HW): 'Energy OUT (exercise) = Energy IN (eating).
If your below your (HW): Energy OUT (exercise) = Energy IN (eating).
