7 Ways to Be Nothing But Average
Be afraid to explore other countries.
Do not go backpacking in Brazil for the summer, or take that internship in Germany.
You will learn a plethora of new things, experience different cultures, and explore magnificent places...
all of which, will not make you average.
Follow every Rule in the book Don't break any rules, or even question why they are rules.
Just follow all of them.
Breaking rules requires you to think for yourself and leads to societal change.
Leave this for the leaders, free thinkers, and great minded individuals.
Get a college degree as fast as you can Firstly, getting a degree should be your only option, do not even consider pursuing a career without a degree.
Secondly be in an intense hurry to graduate, even if it means studying the wrong field.
You shouldn't take the time to truly discover what it is you love.
Take you're first option and race to get that diploma with your name on it.
There's no point to spending an extra year or two (or five) finding something you're passionate about, you're only going to be spending rest of your life working in that field.
Make excuses Use these to justify all of your failures.
Excuses will help to temporarily cure unhappiness, and allow you to avoid changing something.
It is much easier to convince yourself with a reason for not accomplishing that goal than to actually try.
Taking responsibility and accepting mistakes is only for those who want to learn lessons.
Hate your job.
Despise your job as much as you can.
You should be working 40 hours a week for the sole purpose of making money.
Do not take pride in your work, enjoy what it is you do, learn from it or engage in meaningful relationships at work.
These will all lead to passion, something you do not want for being average.
It is only remarkable people who are passionate and love what they do.
Fit in.
Always try to conform to what's going on around you.
The key to this one is not to think, just blindly follow and you'll fit in like a pro.
If you want to try something new, or do something alternatively you will be considered different and people may not agree with you, such a terrible thing.
Have a routine.
Avoid new experiences at all costs.
You should be doing pretty much the same thing everyday.
Don't be trying new things, stepping outside your comfort zone, or seeking new experiences, these will all lead to too much self discovery.
If an opportunity for a new experience arises, shut it down immediately so you can do exactly what you did yesterday and feel comfortable all the time.
