The Benefits of Submitting to Article Directories

One of the best ways to get back links to your website is to submit articles to article directories so that other sites can publish them.
As long as you have a link to your website in the article's resource box, your site will get a one-way back link when your article is published.
Most of the article directories are free, but there are also sites that will do this for a membership fee.
These membership sites have some advantages over traditional article directories, but they also have disadvantages.
I've tried both of these methods.
Here is what I've found to be the best reasons to go with article directories: Links from Article Site When you submit your article to a traditional article directory, that article shows up on their site under the category you chose.
This means that even if nobody chooses to publish the article on their website, you automatically have one link from the article directory itself.
And more importantly, you're getting a back link from a site that has a high Google page rank.
EzineArticles.
com, for instance, has a page rank of 6.
The article membership site, however, does not automatically give you a link.
Since you need to be a member to publish the article, it is not visible to the general public which means you do not get a back link from their site.
The only back links you get are from other sites that choose to publish your article.
And they may have a very poor Google page rank.
One time I submitted an article and 19 sites published it.
But when I tried to Google the title of my article weeks later, I couldn't find it.
None of those 19 sites had enough ranking to get indexed quickly, or possibly even at all.
Fast Google Indexing Since your article is visible on the directory's category page, it can be found by any Google bot that comes sniffing.
So in theory, Google has the potential to find your article and thereby your site as soon as your article is approved.
Again, since the article membership site does not publish the articles on their website, your article cannot be found by a Google bot.
Cost If you haven't yet figured out how to make money online, you're probably pinching every penny.
With so many internet marketing products to try that cost money, it's nice that most article directories are 100% free.
You can generate back links to your site for absolutely nothing.
How many tools out there give you so much benefit for nothing? On the other hand, the membership site I've used costs $47/month.
The price may be worth it to someone who is successful at internet marketing, but it's a little steep for the internet marketing beginner, or even someone who has been doing it for a while but has yet to make any money at it.
