- 1). Go to board the S.S. Aqua, and Professor Oak will give you the National Pokedex.
- 2). Battle every trainer you encounter to see new Pokemon. These Pokemon will appear in the National Pokedex.
- 3). Scroll to the "Area" section of the Pokedex, and travel to the blinking Route or cave on the map to search for the creature.
- 4). Capture the monster in a PokeBall to add its entry to the Pokedex.
- 5). Trade Pokemon with people who own other versions of the "Pokemon" games. For example, trading with a player who owns "Pokemon SoulSilver" can help you obtain rare creatures such as Gulpin, Groudon and Delibird. These monsters are not obtainable in "Pokemon HeartGold" without trading.
