Feral Or Balance For Leveling - Which Spec is Better For Leveling a Druid?

103 30
These are the two of the possible talent builds for leveling a Druid.
If you want to level up fast then please forget about leveling as Restoration.
It is slow and inefficient because it is mainly for healing you and your party.
So firs of all I want you to present what Feral and Balance builds really are.
Feral or Balance for Leveling - What do you benefit from Feral build? This talent build is for upgrading your melee DPS (damage per second).
Well in fact this build is also for tanking.
But let's stick to the leveling and damage output.
If you level as Feral, then you are going to be from 20 up to level 80 in Cat form.
It has the best damage output of other forms.
The play-style is very similar to the Rogue's one.
As being in Cat form you have extremely high damage output against single target.
Another good thing is that with this Feral talent tree your leveling will have zero downtime.
This is because you don't need any mana at all (as I said before, it is like leveling a Rogue who has "energy").
Feral or Balance for Leveling - Balance Leveling? Leveling as Balance is a totally different story.
This tree is about enhancing spell damage output.
So you would level as a caster (similar to mage, warlock, elemental shaman, priest).
This build has some nice utility skills such as Entangling.
This is a good skill so the enemy dies before even reaches you.
The downside of leveling as Balance is that your spells need mana.
So you have to drink sometimes to regenerate your mana.
Feral or Balance for Leveling - Conclusion.
I tried them both and I really recommend you to level as Feral (cat form).
It is fast, efficient, without any downtime for eating and drinking.
However I have to mention one thing.
If you like being in the instances and you like healing, than go for Balance.
As Balance you are going to be able to heal up to level 50 without any problem.
That is because you will have big mana pool.
