- 1). Choose the colors and details of your fabric and outfit from the picture you have.
- 2). Plug in the hot glue gun to heat and insert the glue stick in the back opening of the gun or as your specific glue gun directs. Untwist 2 metal hangers and reshape each in to the shape of a wing. Place the two wings next to each other and stick together with hot glue. After they have dried, tie together tightly in the middle using yarn for extra reinforcement.
- 3). Wrap the sheer fabric tightly around the edges of the hanger on one of the wings and fold the fabric over to the end of the other wing so both wings are covered. Secure the fabric with the hot glue and additional fabric glue as needed. Set the wings in a location to dry. When dried, you can decorate with glitter glue or rhinestones adhered with hot glue.
- 4). Measure the waist of the person who will wear the costume and cut a piece of elastic that is 2 inches larger than the waist length. Tie the elastic ends together to create a large circle.
- 5). Cut pieces of tulle that are 6 inches wide and 24 inches long. Cut about 50 strips of tulle. Fold a strip of tulle in half over the elastic band and tie in a knot attaching it to the elastic strip. Continue to tie the tulle strips in knots sliding each one tightly next to the previous knot until the tulle is all attached and the skirt has been created. Fluff the skirt up and try on to see how it fits.
- 6). Put on the leotard or shirt and pants and safety pin the wings on the back (if the costume is for you, have someone else attach your wings). Pull the skirt around the waist. Brush body glitter on the face and shoulders. Wear slippers with the outfit. A recommended hairstyle would be to pull the hair in to a bun.
