    Function

    • Wii Fit is also known as the Wii balance board. The board connects wirelessly with your Nintendo Wii and can work anywhere the Wii is located. The board is mainly used for foot exercises, but can also function with the hands by doing push-ups and other activities. Using the Wii Fit requires players to stand on the actual product and interact with the games that they are using. The Wii Fit runs on a built in battery that is charged directly through the Wii system, using the USB port or by plugging into an actual wall outlet.

    Identification

    • The Wii Fit board is a skinny board in a rectangle shape with curved edges. The board is white and grey, like the Nintendo Wii, and features ports for charging into multiple outlets. It weighs a little less than 10 pounds and can be customized with skins and yoga mats.

    Features

    • The Wii Fit comes with its own game that has dozens of activities that can be performed on the board. The "Yoga" section of the game uses famous yoga positions like the Tree Pose, Warrior and Half Moon. Balance games have users steer with their feet in "Soccer Heading," "Ski Jimp" and "Table Balance." "Strength Training" uses the board to perform various exercises like the "Lunge," "Torso Twist" and "Jack-Knife." The final section is the "Aerobics" section and covers things like the "Hula Hoop," "Running" and "Basic Step."

    Types

    • Other games have been created to adapt with the Wii Fit board. "Wii Ski" allows users to participate in a variety of skiing activities. "Skate It" utilizes the board as a digital skateboard. "Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party" takes a unique twist on the board, and requires users to use multiple body parts. All of these games are sold separately from the Wii and usually retail for around $50.00.

    Considerations

    • The Wii Fit sells for $89.99 retail and often sells out due to high demand. Waiting to purchase the Wii Fit can have a lot of benefits. First, the mainstream release will bring forward any potential issues, the demand will soon go down, and the price will eventually drop as well.
