Table image is a concept that is often over looked by both new and older poker players.
Your image at the table is a very important part of how other players will react to your play and perceive you.
All great poker players have different kinds of images.
If you want to be successful you will need to think about how you want to be perceived at the table.
Your image should not be force but should fit your personality and your style of play.
Players that are perceived as aggressive are played against different then players that are perceived as tight.
Either of these images can be effective if they are used properly.
In general most players have a style of play that they like to use or feel good playing.
If you are able to play many different styles your game and table image will be much more useful.
You will be able to switch gears and use psychology as one of your tools at the poker table.
You will end up having much more control over how the other players at the table play.
Your image is not the only thing that you should think about.
The image that other players portray is also important.
Are they folding a lot of hand? Are they calling with weak pairs? Do you think they are trying to force their table image? These are all good questions to ask yourself about the other players at the table.
Table image is all about what hands you win with and how often do you play your hands.
In live games your appearance and what you say also change how other players see you.
Table image is about controlling yourself, in the hopes of controlling how the game is played.
