So you've decided a Rogue shall be your main and you're probably wondering what type of abilities a Rogue is mostly focused on when it comes to leveling or even PvP.
When looking at Rogue skills the most important information you'll want to take note of is the cooldown duration it takes as well as what are it's latent abilities and how long they last for.
One other piece of information you'll need to know of is how much energy a skill costs.
For example, some of their skills build combo points, some are meant to USE up combo points which are more potent the more you have available on your target.
There are other times when some skills need to be used only while in stealthed mode and others which will break stealth when used.
The best way to find out is to just mouse over a skill by opening up your spell book and reading their description.
There are others which can be used straight up which don't provide combo points or require them such as "Vanish" or "Sprint".
Other than activated skills, there is another aspect of Rogue skills which are used in preparation for combat.
Poisons have a variety of different effects when applied to the Rogue's weapons some of which may slow opponents with "Crippling Poison" or even slowing down cast times of spell casters via "Mind-Numbing Poison".
An important tip regarding poisons is that it can be applied while in stealth.
This means that while in a hostile area you are able to pick a target and apply appropriate poisons to your weapons before engaging combat.
As with applying Rogue skills like Poisons onto weapons do not break stealth, "Sprint" also works while in stealth.
If an enemy realizes that a stealthed player is nearby, they may start to randomly cast area of effect abilities like "Arcane Explosion" which when damages a stealthed Rogue will cause them to uncloak.
Using "Sprint" in stealth allows you to stay in cover while giving you the advantage of quickly positioning yourself either defensively or offensively.
