Hopi Time Island

Judy writes: "The only exception in Arizona is the Navajo Nation, in northeastern Arizona, which does observe Daylight Saving Time." But she fails to mention that the Hopi Reservation - which lies completely within the Navajo Nation - does NOT observe DST. [Note from Judy, About.com Phoenix: Thanks for making sure that is clear. Because it is the Hopi Nation, I don't declare it as an exception. The Navajo Nation, as I say, observes DST. The Hopi tribal lands, even though located within the geographical boundaries of the Navajo Nation, do not observe DST, just like the rest of Arizona.]

Ben Franklin Failed

DST is the worst idea Ben ever had. For this single blasphemous act. His name should be stricken from history

Backwards DST...

I live in Arizona, and I wish that we could have backwards daylight savings time! Then we could have cooler evenings in the summer. Everyone who says that we should have to conform with the rest of the nation must understand that already it doesn't usually get below 100 overnight in the summer, and sometimes it's 110 at midnight!

Temperatures at home

Right now, it's December 23 and I am needing it at 74. My mom yelled at me; Anyways,.....!! -- Sometimes 68 is high enough. Right now, it's only about 36 degrees out and we have but around an 800 sq ft home.

forget it

businesses and schools can adjust their times based on their needs. The government should stay out of tinkering with things that they do not understood

Bravo Arizona!

I do not like Daylight Savings Time. I reside in NM and want to move to AZ so I would not have to set clock back and forward ANYMORE!

— M.S.

YEAH! For Arizona!

I lived in Phx. area for 10 yrs. and LOVED the idea of NO Daylight Savings time! Now, I live in Wa. state and am dreading the time change. What a bummer!

I do like daylight savings time

I have always lived with daylight savings time and I actually look forward to sunlit summer evenings.

What if we got rid of time zones ...

The US military is already saving a lot of money and resources by using UTC, we do not need to see the sun rise to know the time, people have clocks nowadays, but, in this economy, businesses would save, airlines, put the whole country on UTC weird at first but is it any weirder to go to school say at 0335 than 735am vs 835am
