- Use the "radar" mode of your PKE meter to locate your next target. It will always keep you moving in the right direction and prevent you from becoming sidetracked into maze-like areas. The PKE display will also help you locate valuable bonus items such as the "Cursed Artifact" collectibles. Refer to it often when exploring new areas, as it can yield big rewards.
- If you want to finish the game, needless to say, you need to be alive. A couple of methods will work particularly well in avoiding ghost attacks. Pressing the "B" button on the Xbox360, or the "O" button on the PlayStation 3, while holding a direction will cause you to perform a dodging roll. Perfecting this move will keep you safe from the majority of incoming attacks. Your team members are also useful allies, though not in the way you might think. They do little damage to ghosts, but they do draw a lot of attention. Look after your team and keep them alive; they'll take a lot of the heat off you in chaotic situations, preventing you from becoming swarmed by enemies.
- An upgradable weapons system in the game allows you to add more power and additional features to your trusty proton pack. Each weapon has its own level of effectiveness, but one of the best is the Boson Dart. These darts start off quite weak, but the upgraded version has a large blast radius, making it one of the most high-value purchases available.
- The "slam" feature can prove useful in trapping ghosts quickly --- especially when taking on multiple enemies. This feature gradually increases while you're trying to wrangle the ghost into the trap; once it's full, you can bang it into walls or floors by tapping the left trigger while pushing the stick in the appropriate direction. This move stuns the ghosts and makes them momentarily docile, making it much easier to trap them. The "Slam Dunk Trapping" upgrade allows for instant trapping.
