Slide your finger to the left across the screen or tap along the right edge of the page to read the next page. Sliding your finger to the right or tapping along the left edge of the page accesses the previous page.
- The Nook Color provides reading tools that allow you to customize the look of the page, including font type, font size and background color. Open the Reading Tools menu by tapping the center of the page while reading books and newspapers. The menu appears on the bottom of the screen. Selecting Contents opens the book’s table of contents, highlighting the current chapter. This tool also allows you to gain access to any notes and bookmarks you have set for the book. The Search tool allows you to search the book or newspaper for specific information. Using the Share tool, you can share recommendations, comments and other information via email and the social networking sites Facebook and Twitter. The Text tool allows you modify the appearance of the text and background, and the Brightness tool allows you to adjust the brightness of the screen.
- The Nook Color allows you to surf the Internet wherever you have Wi-Fi access. To open the Web browser, tap the white "Nav Arrow" and then select the “Web” icon from the "Quick Nav Bar" that appears. The first time you access the Web browser, you will receive a prompt to adjust to adjust the browser for optimal viewing. By default, the Nook views the browser like your home computer. If preferred, you can change the view to mobile mode, which displays the browser content as you would see it on a smart phone. You can modify these settings at any time by opening the Options menu while browsing. In addition to Web browsing, you can configure access to your existing email account, such as Gmail or Yahoo! Mail, on the Nook Color.
