- 1). Wet the lenses under running water. Cleaning a dry lens with a dry cloth can cause scratches on the coatings.
- 2). Apply the cleaning agent recommended by your optician. Do not use regular lens cleaning solutions because some of them have abrasive agents that can harm the coatings on the lenses.
- 3). Clean lenses with a microfiber cloth. Fold the cloth over the front and back of the lens. Hold the cloth to the lens with your thumb on the top and index and middle fingers on the bottom. Rub the top layer of cloth against the lens gently in a circular motion. Clean the other lens. Rinse the cleaning solution from the lenses with cool running water.
- 4). Dry with microfiber cloth or let air dry. Do not use a washcloth or paper towel on the lenses as they may scratch the coating.
