    • 3). Learn judo for the art of attacking or defending with throws from the clinch to bring the fight to the mat or keep it standing.

    • 4). Practice Brazilian jiu-jitsu to learn how to improve your positioning on the ground in order to put yourself in position for submissions, or to prevent your opponent from gaining advantageous positions.

    • 5). Box with an instructor to improve your ranged hand-striking techniques.

    • 6). Train muay Thai to learn how to add kicks, knees and elbows to your striking repertoire.

    • 7). Practice dirty boxing, the art of throwing strikes while clinched close with an opponent.

    • 8). Perform strength and conditioning drills, such as tire flipping or heavy ropes, to improve your practical strength and ensure you are prepared to fight for 15 minutes, or 25 minutes in a title fight.

    • 9). Combine the different arts together during sparring. While it is important to be proficient in each art, being unable to seamlessly change between them, such as using strikes to get your opponent out of position to defend a take down, will minimize the effectiveness of your offense and defense.
