The Fastest Way to Make Gold in WoW WotLK
- 1). Set up a character on your account strictly to gather items that can be sold on World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King (WotLK). Every game account permits up to 10 separate characters to be created under the account, per server.
- 2). Choose two gathering professions for the gatherer character created in Step 1. Each character is permitted two separate specialty "professions" in addition to the general professions all characters have, which are cooking, first aid and fishing. The two specialty professions can be skinning (generally for hunters and for rogues, but any character can choose skinning if desired), herbalism (gathering of herbs in forests and in deserts) and mining (gathering of metals from "veins").
- 3). Visit a trainer for each of the two gathering professions decided upon and "learn" the professions from the trainers. All trainers can be found in any of the capital cities for the faction being played, either Alliance or Horde. To easily find any of the trainers in any of the cities, visit one of the guards at the front gate of the city. Hover the mouse pointer over the guard and then right-click to open up a dialog box. Select "Profession Trainers" and then scroll down to the profession you desire to train in and click on it.
- 4). Close out all additional dialog boxes and then open up the map to show where you are and where the trainer is located. Press the "M" key on the keyboard to open up the map of the city and look for a red flag and a triangle-shaped arrow on the map. The red flag is where the trainer for the profession is located, and the arrow is where you are currently on the map. Look at the paths on the map to determine the fastest way to get to the trainer and then navigate your character to the trainer's red flag.
- 5). Right-click on the trainer and accept training for the entry level of the profession. Once completed, go out the front gate of the capital city and travel around the hills, desert or forest outside of that city. The areas outside the front gates of the capital cities provide entry-level materials (herbs, leather from creatures, metals from veins, etc.) to begin increasing the skill level of your profession. Gather the herbs, leathers or metals in these beginner areas first, moving to higher level areas as the skill level is progressed.
- 6). Gather until the character has stacks of 20 pieces of the material, as full stacks sell better on the auction house in any of the capital cities. Visit an auctioneer at the auction house and use the search utility of the auction house to search for the item you will be selling. If the item is, for example, Peacebloom herb, enter "Peacebloom" into the search box and then click "Search."
- 7). Continue increasing the skill level of your characters' professions. There are several excellent guides on the Internet which assist in guiding you through this process for the fastest possible achievements.
