• 1). When you walk up to the table do not attempt to hand your money directly to one of the dealers. Instead drop it on the felt and indicate you want some chips (Wait until after a roll to do this.) Dealers and players are not allowed to touch hands for fear they could be passing chips.
  
  
• 2). The dealer will slide you a stack of chips. Grab these and lay them in the rack in front of you above the table.
  
  
• 3). The roll of the dice moves from player to player clockwise around the table. After one player sevens out then the next player rolls (the player rolling the dice is known as the "shooter"). When it's your turn to roll you can decline if you don't want to participate. It's recommended that you do roll because many players consider it a fun part of the game.
  
  
• 4). Don't be intimidated by the complex layout of the bets on the table. In general, avoid the "inside bets" that are toward the center of the felt. Most of those are for specific number rolls and offer long odds, but not nearly as long as they should be so the house edge is much larger. If you want to bet one of those inside bets toss a chip on the felt and state the bet you want to make and the dealer will place the chip for you.
  
  
• 5). The best bet in the game is pass line with odds. The way this works is you bet pass line and the shooter rolls. If he hits 7 or 11 you win immediately. If he rolls 2, 3 or 12 you lose immediately. If he rolls 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10 he must roll that number again before rolling a 7 for you to win the bet. Once the shooter rolls one of the numbers 4-10, otherwise known as the "point", you can put an odds bet behind your pass line bet and the casino will pay you the true odds if the bet wins. For example, the odds of rolling another 4 before rolling a 7 is 2-to-1. If you bet $5 odds on your pass line bet and win you get paid $10 on that bet.
  
  
• 6). If the point is hit the bets will be paid and the shooter will roll again. If the 7 hits first the bets are collected and a new shooter rolls.
  
  
• 7). You may leave at any time if you have no active bets pending on the table.
