How to Frost Cupcakes Into One Cake
- 1). Place cupcake liners into the cupcake tin. Select liners that are heavy or double lined to help support the icing.
- 2). Prepare the cake batter according to the box or your favorite recipe. Fill the liners 3/4 of the way full with the cake batter.
- 3). Bake the cupcakes by following the recipe carefully. Remove the cupcakes when they finish baking and place them on a wire rack to cool.
- 4). Place a cake board on a flat surface. The cake board will need to be large enough to support your cake.
- 5). Arrange the baked cupcakes onto the cake board. Place the cupcakes in your desired shape so that they touch each other. Arrange the cupcakes into a variety of shapes such as a circle, rectangle or numbers.
- 6). Lift each cupcake from the cake board carefully. Place a small amount of icing on the bottom of each cupcake liner and place the cupcake back into its position. This keeps the cupcakes in place.
- 7). Place a base icing coat onto the cupcakes. Spread the icing over the cupcakes with a spatula. Spread the icing until you no longer see the cupcakes underneath.
- 8). Decorate the cupcakes to create your design. Add fondant, draw decorations or pipe icing onto the cupcakes. Create a border around the cupcakes with small pieces of candy or a piping bag to help define the shape.
