- 1). Measure the doll's head so you can cut the fabric for a more accurate fit. Since the hat adjusts easily, it doesn't have to fit precisely.
- 2). Cut a square of fabric to make the top of the hat. Cut four pieces of fabric in squares that flare out toward the bottom edges. This will allow the hat to fit loosely over the doll's head. Cut two narrow strips of fabric. These will be ties to hold the hat on.
- 3). Sew the four sides of the hat together, allowing them to flare at the bottom. Attach the sides to the top of the hat, with all edges turned under to keep them from fraying. Sew ties on opposite sides of the hat so it can tie under the doll's chin.
- 4). Stitch a thin piece of ribbon around the four sides of the hat an inch or two up from the bottom. Make a little matching bow in one corner.
- 5). Sew on a cluster of tiny silk flowers.
