    Building Your Fondue Fountain

    • Begin by finding a sturdy, level surface to ensure proper operation of your fondue fountain.

      Next pick up the main column and tier assembly, lining up the four receiving tubes at the bottom of the column with the 4 pegs in the bowl portion of the fountain base. Once these pegs are lined up, slowly work down until they are attached to the base. Once the column is in place roll the first O-ring to the bottom tier position, place a tier on top of the O-ring and repeat this procedure until all tiers are in place.

      Next insert the auger into the center of the main column with the slot in the auger pointed down. Give the auger a slight turn until the bottom slots into the auger drive key in the center of the bowl base. Prepare to melt your ingredients.

    Preparing Fondue

    • Melting ingredients before adding them to your fountain allows you to enjoy your fountain without waiting for your ingredients to melt. To melt chocolate in a microwave oven, fill a microwave-safe resealable plastic bag with 2 to 5 lbs. of chocolate chips. Add half a cup of vegetable oil per 5 lbs. of chocolate. Close the bag securely. Place the bag in the microwave and cook on high for approximately 3 minutes, pausing halfway through and kneading the bag. At the end of the cooking time, knead the bag, checking for unmelted pieces of chocolate. If necessary, heat for a few more seconds until all the chocolate is melted.

    Filling the Fountain

    • Preheat the fountain for 3 to 5 minutes at 100 F. Hold your bag of chocolate at the top, grasp one corner of the bottom of the bag and lift until even with the top of the bag. With a pair of scissors snip the bottom corner of the bag. Lower the cut corner of the bag over the bowl and pour the warm, melted chocolate directly into the bowl portion of the fountain. As the bag empties, twist it, forcing all the chocolate out of the bag.
