If only you could find someone who had tried all the different methods already and then gave their run down of what the most effective methods of removal are.
I have lived with the frustration of gophers in my garden and it wasn't until I found someone that had done all the research for me that I found a solution that worked for me.
In a nutshell, you need to educate yourself about these creatures, what their habits and behaviors are, find out what gets rid of them for good and what thousands of other people have used and had success with.
Did you know that when a gopher digs through your lawn, they are not just damaging the beautiful landscape...
they are pulling up roots, exposing rocks that can damage garden equipment, providing fresh tilled soil for weeds to take root into and harming the vegetation that is left underneath the piles of dirt they push out of their tunnels.
You can try one of the many products or methods for getting rid of gophers, such as trapping, flooding, gassing, poison or fumigants, but each has their own downfalls.
Trapping is not for the faint-hearted (like me!) and can take a bit of practice to get right.
Gophers are quite adept at closing off tunnels when you try to gas or flood them out, and poison can often be harmful to other animals if the gopher comes top-side to die.
