Lets go over the top picks that you should be including.
Chicken Breast
To start off our list when learning how to gain some muscles, will be chicken breast. Chicken breast should be at or near the top of everyone's grocery list because it has lots of protein and very little fat in it. Another good thing about chicken is that you can do a lot of different things with it. It can be cooked or baked in many different ways which allows it to be used in many different recipes.
Sirloin Steak
If you don't want chicken, try steak instead. Steak is another good way to get your highly recommended workout protein. Besides the protein, it also contains iron which will help you in the energy department. Low iron levels in individuals make it much harder when working on how to gain muscles. This will be mainly due to the fact that you have less energy and thus won't be able to workout at the intensity that you need to, to make those gains.
Oatmeal
Oatmeal is a quality source of carbs for those looking to gain muscles that you cant overlook. Want a great way to get your day going? Eat some oatmeal because it tastes great, has very little sugar and is high in complex carbs which all combined will give you lots of energy.
For those people with a goal to gain some muscles but having a hard time consuming enough calories, try eating oatmeal in its raw form. It is much more calorie dense before it is cooked.
Pasta
Pasta is the next food that you need to be eating on your muscle gaining diet plan. Since it is so calorie dense, pasta can be a very effective meal following a workout. Stick with some variation of tomato sauce and avoid the creamy sauces (like alfredo etc.). The cream sauces tend to be high in fat which is what you don't want after a tough workout.
Pasta is also quick to prepare and relatively cheap to purchase, so a good staple for most diet plans to hit your goal of how to gain muscles.
Nuts
Finally, dont forget about nuts. You are going to need some fats in your diet when working out. Nuts provide a great source of what might be termed "healthy fats" so make sure that they show up in your cupboards. They too fall under the category of calorie dense foods so try snacking on them (only 1 or 2 handfuls though) throughout your day. They will give you some much needed energy and will also help you to build some lean muscle mass. Another form of nuts which should not be overlooked would be natural nut butter. Same calories but it allows for a different way to eat it.
So there you have the best foods to eat so that you can start to gain some muscles. These aren't in your diet you say; well there's no time like the present to start adding them in. You will be very glad that you did.
